The perinatal period-conception to one year post birth-holds the greatest risk for experiencing a mood and anxiety disorder. Up to 20% of pregnant and postpartum mothers experience depression, anxiety, or excessive worry.

You are not alone!

The important thing to know is that PMAD symptoms are temporary and treatable with
professional care and social support. Whether you are experiencing stress, sleep deprivation, adjustment to parenting, normal “baby blues” or pregnancy or postpartum depression/anxiety, this ongoing PMAD support group is here to help.

In addition to my ongoing, live support group, I am thrilled to be co-leading virtual support groups for Postpartum Support International (PSI), supporting birthing parents who are experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, perinatal bipolar disorder, have terminated pregnancy due to medical reasons, have experienced a miscarriage, or are utilizing IVF and other fertility treatments.

Join us for ongoing, face-to-face support for birthing parents from conception to 2 years post birth that is free and open to both Scarsdale and non-Scarsdale residents. Babes in arms welcome, but no toddlers please.

You deserve to feel well! This is a time for you to focus on YOU, to get out of your home, to gain knowledge, to connect with others and to build an ongoing community of support. This is a great way to learn how to identify and manage any possible mood challenges that may occur during pregnancy and postpartum, because sometimes it’s more than the baby blues.

We will combine education about mood and anxiety disorders that can get in the way of enjoying your family forming journey, along with support group time. There will be resources provided and lots of time to give and receive support from other group members.
