Psychotherapy and Process Groups

In the late 1990’s I had the opportunity to receive trainings in group psychotherapy facilitation at Stanford University under Dr. Irvin Yalom, a premier theorist whose work laid the foundation for running clinically impactful psychotherapy groups. I was immediately hooked, as I saw the power of gathering individuals with similar challenges together to heighten awareness, receive education, share their stories, be validated by others who “get it”, decrease isolation and stigma, increase self-compassion, build community, and rediscover your resiliency.

Research shows that psychotherapy groups and support groups are the most effective form of therapy for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, depression, and anxiety disorders. Even nonverbal cues from other members reminds us that we are not alone and can give us the hope we need.

Experience

Over my career, I have developed, implemented, and evaluated comprehensive best practice group-based treatment for individuals diagnosed with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and family education and support. I offer these groups on a rotating basis virtually as well as face to face.

There is a fee for therapy groups. I am happy to provide a Superbill invoice for you to submit for reimbursement if you have out of network coverage for therapy groups. Please inquire about any session listed below for the next start dates.
